Working in partnership with FAB microphones we recreated the sound of the famous U67 microphone. The FAB 67 uses the same exact circuit as the original using our own custom designed circuit board.
The core of the U67 sound is the capsule and the output transformer. Each microphone contains the finest available components including Mundorf capacitors and the EF806s type tube.
We have chosen what we believe is one of the best capsules available which is a direct replacement of the original Neumann K-67, custom made for us by Eric Heisermann from the U.S. The output transformer is a FAB V12, handmade by Chris Galbraith from FAB Microphones with the finest materials available. This is the best sounding transformer you can find for a U67 recreation, with virtually the same specs as original BV12 transformer. For the tube we employ a EF806S tube which is a special low noise type EF86 tube. Each one is tested before assembly to guarantee the best sound performance.
The sound of the FAB 67 is superb, very detailed, presence and warmth at the same time.
With 14dB pad, HP filter and polar pattern selector to choose between omni, cardiod and figure of eight.
Microphone kit comes as a complete system including: FAB 67 Microphone, Power Supply, 7-Pin Gotham cable assembly with gold Neutrik connectors, and a Shock Mount all packed in a strong waterproof plastic case.
